“Occupy Melbourne” Thugs Rough Up Elderly Jewish Man; Chant “Long Live Intifada!” (video)
Honesty goes a long way in my book. The only thing worse than anti-Jewish leftists are anti-Jewish leftists who refuse to admit that they’re anti-Jewish. So props to the hate-filled thugs behind “Occupy Melbourne” for not trying to hide the fact that hating Israeli Jews is a major factor in their “protest.” While U.S. “Occupy” protesters continue to deny the virulent anti-Semitism that flows throughout the movement, the Aussie “Occupiers” are damn proud of it.
Fair dinkum, mates. Good on ya.
“Occupy Melbourne” actually produced an Internet spot for its October 15th protest march in which the connection between “fighting corporate greed” and hating Israel is spelled out – literally, spelled out – in big letters across the screen. The October 15th event was broken into two parts. The first was a stationary rally during which speakers slammed all the usual targets: Israel, corporations, greed, unemployment, racism, and Israel. Following that, there was a march to a large shopping mall with the intent of shutting down the Max Brenner chocolate shop, because it’s owned by Israeli Jews.
As the thugs marched to the Max Brenner shop, they shouted at the top of their lungs “Intifada! Intifada!,” “Long live Intifada!,” and “Israel has got to go!”
Young thugs taking to the street to blockade and shut-down Jewish-owned shops…now, where have I seen that before?
Of course, today’s leftist goons would likely bristle at any Kristallnacht analogies. They’d probably trot out that familiar old leftist defense, that they’re intentions are “nonviolent.”
To which folks like me would respond that it’s impossible to employ the kind of violent, hate-filled rhetoric embraced by the Melbourne “Occupy” protesters without encouraging violence against the targets of that rhetoric. Whether the violence is an intended result of the rhetoric, or an inadvertent by-product, it’s still bound to happen. It’s inevitable.
And it didn’t take the Occupy Melbourne activists very long to prove that point. As they marched back from their blockade of the Brenner store, they passed an elderly man standing silently against a wall, off to the side of the march and not interfering with it in any way. The old man was merely standing there, holding up an Israeli flag in a silent show of support for the Jewish state.
Well, the protesters couldn’t have that. Not in Melbourne while the 21st Century jungsturm are controlling the streets! Jews need to know their place! So, displaying the “courage” and “bravery” so typical of today’s leftists, a young protester grabbed the flag from the old man so quickly and violently, the man was almost thrown to the ground.
It’s a minor moment, to be sure, and it ends quickly. But it’s a minor moment that speaks volumes. In this one brief incident we see the hatred, violence, and bullying that these “Occupy” thugs are capable of.
I have no doubt that here in the U.S., many of the “Occupy” protesters have reasons for their participation that are sincere and devoid of hate. But there’s no question that there’s a darker side to the movement. In Melbourne, it’s been unleashed. What will happen here, only time will tell.
