“Occupy Hartford” Speaker Reads Message from Hard-Core Anti-Israel Extremist (video)

Wait a minute…I thought the “Occupy Wall Street” movement was all about fighting “corporate fat cats” and “banksters” and protesting the lack of available credit and jobs. I thought it was supposed to be “inclusive” of the entire so-called 99%.

Message to Jews – if you’re not virulently anti-Israel, GO HOME! Because more and more, the “Occupy” denizens are focusing on hating Israel. What that has to do with the stated purpose of the protests, I don’t know. It could have a little something to do with the fact that when you have a “movement” made up primarily of young, directionless slackers with only the vaguest ideas about why they’ve joined that thing that Keith Olbermann told them to join, it’s inevitable that more focused, more ideologically-committed sub-groups will take control and attempt to mold the larger group in their image.

At the “Occupy Hartford” rally last week, far-left professor Elizabeth Aaronsohn (Central Connecticut State University) thrilled the crowd by reading a letter of support from Omar Barghouti, co-founder of the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI), which calls on “academics and intellectuals…in the international community to comprehensively and consistently boycott all Israeli academic and cultural institutions as a contribution to the struggle to end Israel‘s occupation, colonization and system of apartheid…”

Barghouti is also a leader of the “Boycott, Divest, and Sanctions” movement, and a vocal opponent of Israel’s right to exist.

Oh, and he’s also a hypocrite; he urges a boycott of all Israeli academic institutions, yet he himself attends Tel Aviv University, knowing the quality education he’ll receive there.

And speaking of hypocrisy, if pressed as to why they read a statement from a man who wants Israel to disappear from the face of the earth, the “Occupy Hartford” organizers might argue that including pro-Palestinian extremists in their movement is merely their way of showing support for “oppressed people.”

Which must be why another “Occupy Hartford” participant led a delegation of protesters chanting “Hands off Iran!”

Let’s take a moment to comprehend this logic…Israel, a democracy in which even Muslim extremists who seek the country’s destruction are allowed get a top-notch education at the nation’s finest universities, is to be boycotted, shunned, and ultimately wiped off the face of the earth.

And Iran, a despotic theocratic dictatorship in which there is no concept of individual rights, where women and religious minorities are oppressed as second-class citizens, where homosexuals are routinely imprisoned or killed simply for being gay, where filmmakers are thrown in jail, where international terrorism is sponsored, and where the “president” has called for the annihilation of another country, is to be LEFT ALONE! HANDS OFF!

Ah, leftists. If you ever start making sense to me, I’ll know I have dementia. Thank you, leftists, for giving me such an accurate yardstick against which to measure my sanity.

(Note: In the video below, Professor Aaronsohn mistakenly credits the statement to Marwan Barghouti, a convicted Palestinian terrorist currently serving five life sentences in an Israeli prison, instead of Omar Barghouti, the BDS leader. An email to Professor Aaronsohn confirmed her error. That Aaronsohn would think the statement came from a convicted mass-murderer of Jewish civilians, and that she would still be “honored” read it, is itself a bit startling)

How can you denounce a person for seeking an alternative? Israel doesn’t “provide” an education. It simply restricts other options. University is a place of thought and a place to influence others.

Palestinians have not right to education in Israel. There is a huge disparity, even among “arab citizens.”

If your talking about straight-up West Bank/Gazan Palestinians, they don’t even get access to the heavily subsidized fruits and vegetables of Israel.

Calling Israel a “Democracy” is about as accurate as calling Middle England a “democracy.” You know, because the king gets a vote.

Palestine is related to the “occupy” movement, in that we send 1/5 of our foreign aid (a waste) to Israel.

Also, it a symbol of the government’s stagnation.

I can’t believe you sited “CAMERA.” “While the comparison of Israel to South Africa is a patently false one rejected by people who have lived and suffered under actual apartheid rule and which has been throughly debunked…” Do yourself a favor and google “Nelson Mendela” and “Israel” or “Desmond Tutu” and “Israel.”

While your at it, can you explain to me the “right to exist?” I presume you’re referring to the similar right the “State of Rebecca” has the right to exist. Or the “Third Reich” has the right to exist. Stop using soundbites, think for yourself.

Furthermore, only an idiot couldn’t comprehend the purpose of the “Iran” protest. We cannot afford another war–see, simple.
